Day 5

Over lunch today I went over to the Museum of Contemporary Art. It's a great place to escape and worth a visit if you're ever in the area. (Free admission on Tuesdays for any fellow Chicagoans).

Today's shot was my first attempt to capture a random stranger. I felt a little bit like I was stalking people, but I think I came away undetected, almost stealth like. (At least that's what I'm telling myself so that I'm not "that creepy chic with the camera".)

Museum Girl:

I tried my luck at PS tonight with saturation, color balance, and a grey scale gradient. In addition I edited out the straps of the bag - I thought they were just busy. The original shot is below - unedited.

this one is great! I love the contrast, the black and white are so clear. I also love how the refection of the girl is really enhanced when you see it in black and white.

Again nice comp but why didn't you go all the way with the bag? Remove it all but don't crop it there are tools in PS to remove the bag without cropping.....I think people like the grey scale as for some of us takes us back to before there were color photos. Others, they just don't see it much and like the contrast of a nice greyscale photo.

I however am a color freek so partial to the color plus I can see her details much clearer than in the greyscale. Now you might play around with it and do both on one photo! Maybe make the glass greyscale and keep her in color or vise versa.....Your just a bit out of focus as well when you look at the large photo!

Yeah, I did notice that it was a bit out of focus, but it was the best I had for the day. :) Hmmm....I might have to email you about the removal without cropping tool. Sounds like something that may come in handy! As far as the greyscale I just thought it gave it a more dramatic look.....
