Day 229

I love, love, love this picture!! It just makes me smile.
It reminds me of warm days, a gentle breeze, green grass, and that feeling of warmth when you close your eyes and you 'feel' summer. You know what I mean.

Hmmm....maybe I'll have it framed.

Day 228

I know, I know, 2 days in a row - don't get used to it just yet. We'll see how the rest of the week goes.

My wonderful husband and I spent a long weekend in New York this month. We had such a great time. I'm sure I'll have more pics to share, but for now here's one that should make you smile.

A little about this donut first. For starters it is by far THE. BEST. DOUGHNUT. YOU. WILL. EVER. HAVE.
I'm not joking. I'm not even a big donut fan, but this thing was amazing. It's the Peanut Butter and Jelly Donut from Donut Plant in NYC. It's downtown so a bit of a jaunt if you haven't got a reason to head down there. But I promise you this, if you make the trip you will not regret it. Amazing I tell you. I'm sorry I can't stop now that I've started. A bit of description: It's a square donut - yup square - why waste those delicious little corners when you can fill them with ooey gooey pb&j goodness? So there's this square donut - they then pipe in their own jam that they make there (it was blackberry when we were there) - into the donut. THEN - now pay attention because this is important - they coat it with this orgasmic (yup, that's what I said) peanut butter glaze. It's the perfect combination. You would think it would be too rich, but believe me when I say I could have eaten 10 of these in one sitting. Amazing-Fantastic-Glorious square shaped piece of heaven. YUMMMMM!
Thank you to the very talented Mr. Haigh for capturing this moment.

Day 227

I'm probably the worst blogger EVER. Okay, maybe not the worst, but.......well.....I don't have any excuse.

BUT, I have new pics. Or pictures that I've taken sometime in the past month that I'm just now getting around to posting.

These are from the IA State Fair in August. I forgot my tripod so I decided to have some fun with shutter speed instead.
Not that I would know, but I imagine this is something like what all of you that lived through the 60's spent most of your days seeing. :)

Hope everyone is doing well. Things are great here!
